The World Resources Institute Beijing Representative Office is looking for a highly self-motivated student to join us as a Communications Intern. The intern is required to work for at least 3 days a week, and the term is at least three months. Prefer candidates who can start as soon as possible.

1. Brand Content

• Assist in WRI branding content drafting, organizing and update. 

• Assist in meeting PPT drafting, minutes organizing, and content drafting

• Assist in developing newsletters and other communications products

• Other types of content drafting, translation, and copyediting

2. Media Relations

• Conduct CN and global media monitoring.

• Assist in media dashboard update.

• Other related works per request. 

3. Other Support

• Assist in communication vendors open contract renewal and maintenance.

• Conduct desk research, translation, and other duties per request. 

• Assist in event preparation and provide on-site coordination support. 

• Enrolled undergraduate (at least Junior) or graduate student toward a degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Policy, International Relations, and other related majors. 

• Knowledge and passion in sustainable development and related fields. Understanding of WRI China’s fields of work (sustainable investment and finance, sustainable cities, energy, climate, food& natural resources) and willingness to learn WRI’s culture and value.

• Experience in media, corporate communications, branding and events is a plus; Experience in managing WeChat and other multimedia tools is a plus.

• Experience in AI tools and data visualization (Flourish, Excel etc.) is a plus.

• Adept skill in in Microsoft suit (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

• Fluency in Chinese and English (especially written).

• Response to requests in a timely manner. 

• Ability to work independently with little supervision.

  In rural Africa, we work with local electricity planners to analyze data from our Energy Access Explorer tool, identifying areas that lack power and where clean energy can support local development. We have collaborated with partners to install distributed solar at rural health clinics, often providing affordable and consistent electricity to these facilities for the first time.  

• Scale It: Once tested, we strive to expand our successes nationally, regionally and globally. We work with stakeholders ranging from community members to national governments to adapt leading approaches to their needs and mobilize resources. And we make our learnings accessible through partnerships, publications and tools so others can follow suit. 

  In India, WRI experts spent over two years working side-by-side with the government to develop a national electric bus plan that will deploy tens of thousands of e-buses in cities across the country. This deep local engagement is informing how we collaborate with cities in Latin America, Africa and Asia to scale up local e-bus adoption and spur global momentum toward cleaner public transport.
