Agustín Ocaña Escobar is an innovator, biotechnology engineer, and internationally recognised sustainability advocate. He is the Founder and Chairperson of the Global Youth Coalition (GYC), a global network empowering youth-led initiatives in climate action, innovation, and environmental justice across more than 177 countries.

With a strong foundation in biotechnology and bioinformatics, Agustín combines scientific rigor with grassroots activism and policy advocacy. His expertise notably includes leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to address critical environmental challenges such as pollution mitigation, wildlife conservation, and sustainable energy transitions. Through projects integrating gamification and advanced technology, he champions ethical, data-driven solutions that engage communities worldwide, particularly the youth.

Agustín’s work has been recognized internationally, including being shortlisted for the United Nations Environment Programme’s Young Champions of the Earth Award (2024) and featured prominently by global media such as Forbes. His initiatives, like the Global Youth Climate Training developed in partnership with Oxford University, have impacted thousands of youth globally, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge for impactful climate advocacy and sustainable innovation.

Currently based in Hong Kong, Agustín is also involved in global efforts such as The Earth Prize (TEP), actively channeling funds and support toward innovative, youth-driven environmental solutions, including AI-based projects. His holistic approach unites AI, sustainability education, and youth empowerment, positioning him as a trusted voice and innovative leader in using emerging technologies for environmental good.

让我们一同探索由年轻人主导的创新如何借助人工智能应对污染问题、加速清洁能源转型，并在全球范围内设计基于自然的解决方案。本次演讲将深入探讨来自全球青年联盟（GYC）倡议中的真实案例，例如 FRÜTZ，这是一款旨在提升环境意识的人工智能驱动的游戏化工具，以及Avocado Framework，一个基于数据驱动决策而形成的全球政策指南。演讲将讨论人工智能不仅是分析工具，更是连接数据、政策和社区行动的桥梁，赋能年轻人提出、实施并监测气候解决方案。此外，本次演讲还将探讨人工智能使用的伦理边界、代际合作，以及在发展中国家实现公平数据访问的重要性。本次演讲旨在激励学生，将理论转化为实际影响，并将人工智能视为真正的地球再生催化剂。

Let’s explore how youth-led innovation, powered by AI, is tackling pollution, accelerating clean energy transitions, and designing nature-based solutions worldwide. The talk will dive into real case studies from GYC initiatives, such as FRÜTZ, an AI-powered gamification tool forenvironmental consciousness, and Avocado Framework, a global policy guide shaped with data-informed decisions. It will discuss how AI is not just a tool for analysis, but a bridge between data, policy, and community action, empowering youth to propose, implement, and monitor climate solutions. The session will also explore ethical use of AI, intergenerational collaboration, and the importance of equitable data access in the Global South. This talk aims to leave students inspired and equipped to turn theory into impact, and to see AI as a catalyst for real planetary regeneration.
